Dr. Dexter Asks some important questions of interest to Indianapolis residents - Chiropractor Indianapolis Dr. Dexter Asks...

What are the two things drugs do?
Drugs can either speed up (laxatives, amphetamines, caffeine) a bodily process, or slow down (stomach antacids, sleep aids, antihistamines, muscle relaxers) a bodily process. Chiropractic care can produce the same results, but relies on the intelligence of the body. Chiropractors trust your body. Do you?
What causes subluxations?
Chiropractors acknowledge three types of stress: physical, chemical and emotional. When the adaptive capacity of your body is compromised, weakened areas along the spine can become involved. Muscles tighten, spinal joints lock up and nearby nerves are affected. The purpose of chiropractic care is to find these areas and restore balance, alignment and motion.

Introducing Indianapolis Chiropractor Dr. Dexter Nardella

"My introduction to chiropractic wasn’t a miracle, but it was incredible," explains Dr. Nardella.  "I’ll never forget that first adjustment. It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted from my shoulders."

Dr. Dexter Nardella, Indianapolis Chiropractor"My grandfather, Dexter L. Lewis, introduced me to chiropractic. It was at the end of my second year of wrestling when I started to develop terrible neck pain. I couldn’t wrestle like I wanted. At that time, my grandfather took me to see his chiropractor. Looking back, it’s clear to me that experiencing the trust my grandfather had in chiropractic was a turning point in my life."

"Not until much later," continues Dr. Nardella, "a year after my release from the US Navy, did I realize I wanted to be a chiropractor." Dr. Nardella then went on to complete his pre-chiropractic education at SFCC where he studied physiology and anatomy courses. After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1978, Dr. Nardella was invited by friends to establish his practice in Muncie, Indiana.

"I love skeptics," smiles Dr. Nardella. "I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. So I make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that."

Dr. Nardella enjoys hiking, canoeing, kayaking, taking long walks. He loves carpentry projects, landscaping, household repairs, most anything done by hand ("except auto mechanics!").

"Thank you for visiting my site. I hope it can be a source of hope and healing. If you have any questions, please call me or click on the Email the Doctor button at the bottom of every page."
